Spanish Fork Eye Pros Optometry Services
Minimum Vision Requirements
Everyone’s eyes are different and there are a number of ways to help correct your vision. The State of Utah advise that “to pass the eye test, the division requires 20/40 vision and peripheral fields (side vision) of 90 degrees in at least one eye.”
We Are All Getting Older – Keep Your Prescription Current
You may not be required to renew your license every year but as your eyes continue to change it is important to have your eyes checked regularly. As a patient of the EyePros we will give you your annual reminder for an eye exam. The Optometrist will review your prescription and help you keep compliant with the state vision requirements. Everyone aged 65 and older must pass an eye test every five years.
Additional Vision Assistance – We Are Here To Help
No need to panic if you are not at the minimum standard. “If you fail to meet this standard with or without glasses, you will be required to get a statement from your eye doctor.” There may be times that the Driver License Office will request further information about your vision. Our Optometrists and staff perform many tests that will assist you and we can provide you with a statement with further details as your eye physician. “The statement must be presented before your application can be completed. It should indicate specific vision problems and suggested restrictions if any. ” Please contact us if you require further help with vision statements from your EyePros Optometrist.
Test Before You Go
To have your vision checked for compliance please book an eye exam at one of our Utah offices “ An eye test is required on all original, lapsed, duplicate, and renewal licenses.”
Commercial Driving License
There are varying requirements for commercial drivers from state to state. In Utah “commercial drivers (CDL) need to have a distant visual acuity of at least 20/40 in each eye without corrective lenses or visual acuity separately corrected to 20/40 or better with corrective lenses, and distant binocular acuity of at least 20/40 in both eyes with or without corrective lenses, a field of vision of at least 70° in the horizontal meridian in each eye.”
*This information is provided to assist our patients and for full details you should always check with your local Driving License Office.
